Wiglets pose In front of Miro backdrop

I am working on autonomous behaviors to present at the upcoming Narrative Summit. Here’s a video of some wiglet eye-gaze features I’ve been working on:

Eye shiftiness gene added to wiglet genome

Now wiglets can check each other out

I recently added eyeballs, eyelids, eyelashes, and eyebrows to the wiglet genome, with various breed-able, evolvable attributes associated with them. Here’s a video showing one character with these extra ocular capabilities.

Podcast with Jeffrey Ventrella – on the Versatilist

Hey wiggy peeps,

I was recently interviewed on the Versatilist Podcast, by Patrick O’Shea.

In this podcast, Patrick and I kick around lots of ideas on artificial life, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality. I describe my ongoing efforts to develop a kind of self-animated character that can thrive in our highly augmented future.

Wiggle Planet Educational Game Demo at CES 2016

Exciting times here at Wiggle Planet!  We just finished creating an educational game demo featuring our Wiglet characters working with the new Square Panda Playset.

The Square Panda Playset is an accessory to the iPad that utilizes physical letters and an electronic playset to wirelessly connect to the iPad and engage children in multi-sensory games that explore phonics and basic reading skills.

Our game demo titled “Monster Dance Party” was included in presentations with Square Panda’s release at CES 2016 in Las Vegas.

Check out the video below for a full tour of Monster Dance Party:

This project was a lot of fun, and we’re looking to do more!  If you’re interested in developing innovative games and apps that leverage big data with emotionally-resonant dynamic characters that truly have a life of their own, we’d love to talk with you.

Happy Mutated New Year!

Mutation can be fun! (Especially if you’re a wiglet). Tiny Santa and Elfhead wanted to hang out while these wiglets do the mutation dance. Don’t mind them.

Happy New Year from all of us at the planet that wiggles.
